Cadillac's legendary larger-than-life SUV is the pinnacle of luxury and in-your-face attitude. Its unmatched comfort, infotainment, technology, and interior space make the Escalade an icon in the large luxury SUV stakes.

The Cadillac Escalade redesign for 2025, revealed a few months back, brings its styling more in line with its EV family's looks.

Cadillac Escalade Exterior Redesign

The 2025 Cadillac Escalade redesign on the exterior sees a few bold styling changes.

The slim horizontal headlamps from 2024 are replaced with a vertical LED stack mimicking the LYRIQ and OPTIQ, while the rear vertical tail lamps remain and get some updates to the interior details of the light clusters.

Some panels are recontoured on the Escalade, and in line with the EV models, an illuminated Cadillac badge and grille surround are available.

New 24-inch wheel designs are available, along with refreshed 22-inch wheel designs.

Cadillac Escalade Interior Redesign

The changes to the Escalade's cabin are more substantial. The previous 37-inch OLED displays are being replaced with a gigantic 55-inch pillar-to-pillar LED display that is split into 35 inches for the driver and infotainment and 20 inches for the front passenger.

Two new interior palette options will be available for the 2025 Escalade.

New 2025 Cadillac Escalade vs. Old Cadillac Escalade

Let's examine how the Cadillac Escalade redesign has evolved over its generations.

5th Generation: 2021 - Present

The fifth-generation Cadillac Escalade is the latest generation and offers a completely new interior, technology, and performance over its predecessor.

Some key highlights of this generation are:

  • 6.2L V8 engine with 420 horsepower and an economical 3.0L turbo-diesel inline-six-cylinder
  • Independent rear suspension
  • 2023 saw the introduction of the outrageously powerful 682-horsepower Escalade V model
  • Standard AWD
  • Super Cruise hands-free driving
  • 38-inch curved OLED display

4th Generation: 2015 - 2020

The previous 4th generation Escalade also featured the 6.2L V8 engine producing 420 horsepower, initially paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, moving to the 10-speed automatic in 2018.

Safety systems and driver assistance offered features such as lane departure warning and adaptive cruise control; however, Super Cruise technology wasn't available.

The rear suspension features a solid axle.

3rd Generation: 2007 - 2014

The third-generation Escalade is powered by a 6.2L Vortec V8 producing 403 horsepower, coupled with a six-speed automatic transmission. The rear wheels are powered as standard, and AWD is an option.

Wheel sizes were 18 inches as standard, with up to 22-inch wheel options.

The outstanding Cadillac CUE system and the latest models' curved ultra-large LED infotainment display were not available for this Escalade generation.

The 3rd gen Escalade featured a premium sound system, a 6-disc CD changer, rear radio controls with a DVD entertainment system, and a navigation system reserved only for upper trims.
