Cadillac Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist

The Cadillac Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist is there to lend a helping hand when finding a parking space and, of course, getting you into your parking spot.
Let's share more about the Cadillac parking assist feature found on select models.
What Is Cadillac Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist?
The Cadillac Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist, or EAPA, feature is able to automatically steer, brake, and shift gears to assist you in parking your vehicle.
This feature will function once it has detected a parallel or perpendicular parking space, plus it can also assist in unparking once pulling out of a parallel parking spot.
How Cadillac Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist Works
The EAPA system makes use of sensors along your vehicle's front, rear, and sides to detect available parking spaces while driving forward up to 18 mph.
The Cadillac Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist will then automatically steer, brake, and shift gears to move your Cadillac into the detected parking space.
How to Use Cadillac Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist
To use the Cadillac parking assist feature, you will need to activate it with either a soft-touch button or hard switch near your infotainment display, depending on the model.
To find a parking space on the left, drivers must activate the left turn signal or select the left side on the infotainment screen, depending on the model. The EAPA system will then start to look for a large enough parking space on your left for your vehicle.
Once a suitably large enough parking space is detected, an audible beep is emitted, and instructions on your instrument cluster or infotainment display will advise the driver to stop and shift to reverse. Select Cadillac models will shift to reverse automatically.
Instructions will be displayed on the instrument panel or infotainment screen, or vibration from the steering wheel will advise the driver when to remove hands from the steering wheel. The vehicle will automatically steer and brake into the parking spot and shift between forward and reverse gears as required until the parking maneuver is complete.
A convenient progress bar in the instrument panel or infotainment screen will show how far the vehicle is into the parking maneuver.
Drivers need to be aware that the feature cannot respond to changes in the parking space, like an adjacent vehicle moving or a pedestrian entering the parking space. Drivers must always be ready to override the feature during any parking maneuver.
