When a driver approaches the vehicle ahead too quickly, and a potential collision is only seconds away, the Cadillac Forward Collision Alert will flash a red collision alert on the lower windshield, along with eight high-pitched beep sounds or, if fitted, safety alert seat pulses. The system will only operate when you are traveling in any forward gear.
How to Use Cadillac Forward Collision Alert
Like most of Cadillac's advanced safety technologies, the Cadillac Forward Collision Alert works seamlessly in the background until required. The system will display a green icon when a vehicle ahead is detected. The alert icon will turn amber to indicate a Tailgating Alert if the system deems you to be following the vehicle ahead too closely.
Drivers can use the control on their Cadillac's steering wheel to set the timing of the Tailgating Alerts and Forward Collision Alerts to "Far," "Medium," or "Near" settings. The system will calculate the timing based on the distance to the vehicle ahead, vehicle speeds, along with other driving factors.
